Weekly vehicle check

Do not take the vehicle if it is not safe. A tick is not a guess. If you are unsure, write it in defects and tell a director.

Minimum check — every time

How to do it

  1. Walk around. Look at the ground for leaks.
  2. Check tyres and lights with the ignition on.
  3. Sit in, belts, mirrors, warning cluster.
  4. Note mileage and registration.
  5. Photograph the vehicle so the report shows which van it was.
  6. If anything is wrong: write it, do not tick safe to drive, tell supervision.

Why this exists

HSWA 1974, PUWER 1998 and workplace transport guidance. The driver and BMF must not send an unroadworthy vehicle onto the road. This check is the record that you looked.
